Neapolitan Music Periodicals in the Second Half of the 19th Century

In the second half of the 19th century, about 200 music periodicals were printed in Naples. In order to appreciate the quality besides the quantity of that production and to allow an easier use of this material in research works, Tiziana Grande has:
outlined a map of the main music magazines and revues;
listed the reasons for such an important production of published material also in the light of the intense musical activity taking place in Naples in those times;
underlined the evolution of music magazines with respect to commercial, social, cultural and musical factors.
The author dwells upon some of the most important Neapolitan musical magaziones of the 19th century such as La gazzetta Musicale di Napoli, Napoli Musicale, La Musica, l'Archivio Musicale, but she also deals with a series of minor journals grouped in the following categories: bullettin of musical associations, agency journals, theatre new sheets and specialized press of the end of the century.

Musikzeitschriften in Neapel in der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhundert

In der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jh. wurden ca. 200 Musikzeitschriften in Neapel veröffentlich. Um eine bessere Kenntniss sowohl der Anzahl als auch der Qualität der riesengrossen Palette dieser Zeitschriften, und auch eine flexiblen aber auch gezielten Verwendung im Bereich von historiographischen und chronologischen Forschungen zu ermöglichen, hat Tiziana Grande versuicht: eine Liste der wichtigsten Musikzeitschriften zu umreissen;
die Gründe der so zahlreichen Veröffentlichungen von Zeitschriften auch in Hinblick der zu dieser Zeit in Neapel so bluehenden musikalischen Tätigkeit zu entdecken;
die Entwicklung der Musikzeitschriften in Bezug auf geschäftliche, gesellschaftliche, kulturelle bzw. musikalische Faktoren hervozuheben.
