The activities of IBIMUS in Rome and Latium
The IBIMUS (Institute for Music Bibliography), since its foundation in
1981, has been cataloguing the immense patrimony of musical sources in
Rome and Latium. After 15 years of activity IBIMUS owns about 120.000
titlecards in topographical and alphabetical order, half of which are in
the national database Musica. IBIMUS's seat is located inside the
National Library of Rome Vittorio Emanuele II. Cataloguing of all the
main collections in our working area has been completed or at least
begun. The two most important works of the last year are the archive of
S. Giovanni in Laterano and the collection Compagnoni Marefoschi
published this year in printed catalog. The activity of IBIMUS is now
cataloguing some other music collections, the chief of them are the
musical archives of the Basilica di S. Maria Maggiore and of the
Monastery of Montecassino. IBIMUS is the editor of the seires
Musurgiana: reprints of ancient theoretical and musicological texts. At
the moment IBIMUS is adopting an automated cataloguing system of
adequate international stand level. In the 15 years of life IBIMUS has
organized in different Italian regions 12 courses of music manuscript
cataloguing.
Die Aktivitäten von IBIMUS in Rom und im Latium
Das IBIMUS (Institut für Musikbibliographie) katalogisiert seit seiner
Gündung in Jahre 1981 das immense Erbe an musikalischen Quellen in Rom
und im Latium. Nachdem IBIMUS nun 15 Jahre auf diesem Gebiet tätig ist,
besitzt es etwa 120.000 Titelkarten, die topographisch und alphabetisch
sortiert sind, und von denen etwa die Hälfte in die Datenbank Musica
eingespeichert worden sind. IBIMUS hat seinen Sitz in der
Nationalbibliothek Rom Vittorio Emanuele II. Die Katalogisierung von
allen wichtigen Sammlungen in unserem Arbeitsgebiet wurde abgeschlossen
oder wenigstens begonnen. Am wichtigsten in den letzten zwei Jahren war
die Arbeit im Archiv von S. Giovanni in Laterano und an der Sammlung
Compagnoni Marefoschi, die dieses Jahr als gedruckter Katalog erscheint.
IBIMUS katalogisiert derzeit einige andere Sammlungen, darunter vor
allem das Musikarchiv der Basilika S. Maria Maggiore und das des
Klosters Montecassino. IBIMUS ist Herausgeber der Reihe Musurgiana, in
der Reprints von alten theoretischen und musikwissenschaftlichen Texten
erscheinen. Derzeit führt IBIMUS ein automatisches
Katalogisierungssystem mit angemessenem, internationalen Standard ein.
In den 15 Jahren seines Bestehens hat IBIMUS in verschiedenen Regionen
Italiens 12 Kurse über Musikkatalogisierung durchgeführt.
