Licensing of commercial recordings for a new library service:
the project JUKEBOX experience
If sound archives wish to extend services beyond their boundaries and copyright is the issue, then it's advisable to talk.
In this paper the process of clearing rights for the case of sound
recordings covered by the UK Copyright Law in Project JUKEBOX is
described and some conclusions are drawn from the experience.
Additionally, it looks forward to collaborating with the recording
industry in the light of encouraging comment from representatives of
that industry and the possibility of pursuing a dialogue through
concerted action supported by the European Commission.

dans le Projet JUKEBOX
Si les archives sonores veulent étendre leurs services au dela des frontières c'est bien de parler du droit d'auteur.
Dans cette dissertation on décrit le procès de clarification es droits
pour les enregistrements sonores, en ce qui concerne la loi britannique
sur le droit d'auteur dans le Projet JUKEBOX, et des conclusion sont
tracées par l'expérience.
En outre, on éspère de trouver une collaboration avec l'industrie du
disque pour encourager des commentaires de la part de répresentants de
cette industrie, afin de trouver la possibilité de dialogue à travers
une action concertée soutenue par la Commission Européenne.
